Rising Decibels
Late in the evening yesterday, i went out for a long walky-walk with my neighbour. On the way, we passed by the market place and since my neighbour had to get a couple of keys duplicated, we went to the chabi-walla's li'l make-shift stall, gave him the master key n stood there talking....waiting for him to clone the keys. Not wanting to have a long break in our walk, we hoped he would'nt take long, but he seemed to be taking until eternity....my neighbour n I had even run out of things to talk about, n we were just standing there....gazing at passers-by...watching them as they walked past; they were completely unaware of the two pairs of eyes following their movement ! Then suddenly, something attracted my attention. It was a man in his car, hooting the horn loudly "Beep...Beep!" The hooting went on n on....relentlessly ringing in my ears. My eyes changed focus now....this time in the direction of the constant hooting. Damn...was I peeved. Almost everyone on the road was staring at the man in the car, but little did he realize that he was getting on everyone's nerves with his honking. I hate people who come to such places n hoot away sittin in their cars.....Grrrr. And any guesses as to why the darned man was hooting his car horn so loudly?...He just wanted to attract the attention of the local chat-gadi walla! So much for his cheekiness. Like he couldnt park the car some place n come get his plate of chat..huh. Arrogant people like these really oughtta learn how not to add to the noise levels in the city.
